The CES 2015: Winners and Revelations

At the beginning of every year, everyone who is anyone descends on the Vegas strip to attend the extremely popular Consumer Electronics Show (CES). This year is no exception, with technology experts and leading brands travelling the breadth of the world to see the very latest in innovation, design and advanced gadgetry. If you have missed the highlights from this years’ show to date, here is a recap that includes some of the most intriguing and potentially ground-breaking product development.

At the top of the bill is LG’s highly anticipated G Flex 2, which is the Korean company’s second curved smartphone and a follow-up to last years’ model. It features a much smaller screen than the previous instalment, with a more than manageable 5.5 inch display and 1080 p resolution available to users. The curve is also less pronounced, and this refine design adds considerable value to the handset in terms of ease of use and practicality.

Televisions are becoming increasingly important examples of hardware, especially when you consider the advent of cross-platform gaming and the fact that everything from a free slot machines app to consoles can be enjoyed through 3 and 4K screens. Panasonic and Sony are therefore looking to capitalise on this trend by releasing a series of 4K LED LCD Ultra HD Smart TV’s, which deliver a more vibrant and visually engaging viewing experience across the board.

On a final note, it is interesting to note that Ultra High Definition is no longer enough for Samsung, who used the CES to unveil their plans for a ‘new era’ of television with an innovative 88-inch JS9500 SUHD (Super Ultra High Definition)set to be released in 2015. This is something to look out for, especially for fans of unique media experiences.
