Samsung this evening has officially put the Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition for Verizon up for sale on its website. The device will set you back $ 699 off-contract, which when compared to other devices on the market, is not unreasonable at all.

The Note 4 Developer Edition for Verizon is identical to the regular model in every way, except for the fact that it has an unlockable bootloader. This means that you can install custom ROMs on it, as well as generally tweak it far easier than you can the standard Verizon model.

It’s important to note, however, that Google Play Edition devices and Developer Edition devices are in no way the same. The Developer Edition Galaxy Note 4 on Verizon still runs TouchWiz and includes all of Samsung’s and Verizon’s pre-installed apps.

The device is available now on Samsung’s website for $ 699.
